Terms of This Notebook

Please read these terms before relying on the website or using its browser-based note tool.

The publisher and service

This website is operated by Pickleparadepopixa Instrument Media Ltd, registered office 29 New Street, Salisbury SP1 2PH, United Kingdom, company number 15902874. Questions about these terms may be sent to [email protected]. The website provides general editorial information about pianos and acoustics. It does not sell instruments or offer restoration, valuation or acoustic consultancy services.

Educational information, not a diagnosis

Articles cannot establish the condition, safety, value or suitability of a particular piano or building. Restoration and acoustic outcomes depend on the instrument, workmanship, environment and room. Consult a suitably qualified professional before purchasing, repairing, moving, altering or commissioning work. Do not use illustrations as repair instructions. Piano strings, heavy lids, moving mechanisms and instrument transport present real risks.

Accuracy and availability

We aim to make explanations clear and accurate but do not promise that every page is complete, current or free of error. We may correct, revise or remove material and may interrupt access for operational reasons. Source references provide context, not a guarantee of a result. Send suspected errors through the Contact page.

Independence and external sources

References to manufacturers, museums, books and professional organisations do not imply affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement. External websites are controlled by their operators and have separate terms. We are not responsible for their changing content or availability. Names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

Using the content

Copyright and other rights in original website material belong to the publisher or relevant rights holders. You may read, link to and retain reasonable copies for personal reference. Statutory quotation and other lawful exceptions remain available. Do not republish substantial material, remove attribution, misrepresent authorship or reuse images without the required permission.

The note editor

The editor creates a plain-text message in your browser and offers clipboard copying and a local download. It does not send email, create an account or store a server-side draft. You are responsible for checking text before sharing it and for any file or clipboard copy you create. Browser restrictions may prevent a function from working. Do not rely on the editor as permanent storage.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with operation, introduce harmful code or use the service unlawfully. Any correspondence should be relevant and lawful and should not disclose another person’s confidential information without permission. Sending a note does not create a professional advisory relationship.

Liability and your legal rights

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on general information or from the unavailability of the website. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without removing any mandatory consumer protections applicable where you live. Courts with legally applicable jurisdiction remain available. We may update these terms; the effective date identifies the version published here. Privacy and browser-storage practices are explained separately in our Privacy notice and Cookies notice.
